Adding funds to your SWAP Wallet

There are three simple ways to move funds into your SWAP Wallet


link your bank account

Select the ‘Add funds’ option on your SWAP wallet menu and enter your bank account details. The SWAP call centre will call you to do an authentication and security check on you.

Once your bank account has been linked, you can do regular transfers from your bank account to your SWAP wallet. Due to bank debit order processing, it will take a few days to have the money available in your SWAP wallet account.

electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Money can be transferred to your SWAP wallet via EFT from any bank account, using your own cellphone number as the reference number. This also enables others to pay money directly into your SWAP wallet from their bank accounts. The money will reflect in your SWAP wallet within 24 hours. You can do an EFT from an ATM, in your bank or by using internet banking. When logged onto internet banking, simply add SWAP as a Beneficiary with the following bank details:

cash top ups at Shoprite Checkers

You can do a cash top-up into your SWAP wallet or into another SWAP wallet at any Shoprite Checkers in South Africa.

Inform the cashier that you wish to make an account payment to ‘PayAt’, a SWAP beneficiary that facilitates the process for SWAP.

Provide the PayAt identifier that is: 1135700 followed by the cellphone number of the SWAP wallet you wish to top up, and then give the cash to the Shoprite cashier. The cash will be immediately available in the SWAP wallet.

wallet-to-wallet

You can send and receive money from any existing SWAP wallet through a wallet-to-wallet transfer. The SWAP user who wishes to send you money simply selects the wallet-to-wallet option on his SWAP wallet menu, enters your cellphone number, enters the Rand and cents amounts, and confirms the transaction. Funds are immediately available in your SWAP wallet.

person to person

If you have cash, you can give the cash to someone with a SWAP wallet and ask that person to do a SWAP wallet-to-wallet transfer to your phone. A transaction fee of 1% of the value of the transaction is payable by the person who does the transfer. Allow for this fee when you give him the cash.

Select the ‘link your credit card’ option on your SWAP wallet and enter your credit card details. The SWAP call centre will call you to do an authentication and security check.

Once you have linked your credit card you will always have it readily available when you need to make a payment. SWAP is safe and secure and your credit card details will never be exposed as with normal credit card transactions.
